Fasting

Father, I humble my soul with fasting. Food has no control over me. I refuse to commit high treason over some fruit. I refuse to sell my birthright for a bowl of soup. I refuse to complain and murmur over hunger and thirst and miss out on the promises of the Lord. Instead I fast because I cannot live on bread alone but by every Word that proceed from Your mouth. Let my hunger be filled with Your righteousness and my thirst with Your presence. Life is more than food, more than meat and drink, but rather righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So let my substance be filled doing the will of the Father. In the name of Jesus who fasted 40 days and nights so that He may only hunger and thirst after the will of the Father.

Scripture

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; - 1 Peter 3:15 KJV

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. - Matthew 10:26-28 KJV

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. - Hebrews 10:22-25 KJV
